UNIST to Host International Trade Conference Event

The 6th International Trading Conference will be held at the Lotte City Hotel Ulsan, October 25th, 2016.
UNIST has been chosen to host the sixth International Trading Conference (2016 ITC) on October 25 at the Lotte City Hotel Ulsan, South Korea. The conference is jointly organized by the city of Ulsan and the Ulsan Port Authority (UPA).
This unique gathering of some of the top minds in fields ranging from petroleum production and refining and to oil trading will come together with citizens and government officials to debate and discuss issues and challenges on low oil price market in Northeastern Asia.
The objective of the ITC conference is to explore the role and possibility in Ulsan, as a center of energy commndity in accordance with the Northeast Asia oil hub building. The conference, first started in 2011, and has been inviting the global scholars and experts in the field of energy commodity trading and financial engineering proceeding in other areas every year.
The UNIST International Trading Conference plays active academic exchanges of energy oil market and the role of a bridgehead for the research activity of the related fields, as well.
The speakers for the conference are from leading universities and organizations in Northeastern Asia and America, and include two invited lectures sponsored by the city of Ulsan and Ulsan Port Authority (UPA) respectively.
Among the speakers are Director Younghwan Lee from Ulsan City, Senior Economist Yoshikazy Kobayashi from the Institute of Energy Economics Japan, Prof. David Carter from Oklahoma State University, and Prof. Liyan Hann from Beihang University. They will be presenting the following topics: “Issues and Challenges on Low Oil Price Market in Northernesat Asia” and “Energy commodity Market and Current Financial Technology”.
The keynote lectures of this year are given by Lawrence Zhang, Chief of Financial Engineering Officer from Shanghai Futures Exchange and Jihak Chang, Senior Executive Vice President from Hyundai Oilbank, presenting “Challenges and Opportunities in a Low Price Environment” and “Energy Market in China” respectively.
“This conference assembles a group of leading energy trading experts to present and discuss their work at the cutting edge of energy research,” said Prof. Kooyul Jung (Dean, Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Management). “This forum creates opportunities to discuss new ideas, make connections and examine important issues facing the world.”
